Volume Vl: Letter from the Founder

Let’s keep it real… if you were truly looking to change something about yourself … it would have been done already…

In this 6th volume, my letter will be for your “Trick or Treat”.

Answer this… Do you “Trick” or “Treat”?  When it comes to nutrition we often tell ourselves:   Ok, I exercised and burned 600 calories so, now I can eat whatever I want because the math is done”. TRICK!

How about this: I ate well-balanced meals, I worked out and hydrated throughout the day in a sensible and timely manner.  It’s 6pm now, and I’m in the mood for ice cream. I’ll have 1/3 cup chocolate ice cream with ½ sliced banana, almond slivers, and a sliced strawberry toping. TREAT!

What’s the difference? “Trick” is deceit; you talk yourself into a lie. “Treat” is satisfaction without indulging.  What is important is portion control and self-discipline.

A workout without “works” is void or empty. You can exercise all you want, but if you don’t watch what you put into your body, you are doing yourself a disservice.  You will most likely fail to get the results you are looking for. Apply yourself, prepare yourself and make the right choices!

To reiterate what I wrote in Vol 5: “make a commitment, to take the time and put in the effort required to accomplish what you thought you couldn’t. All it takes is one small change at a time.“
